The court postponed consideration of claims against IK-6 due to Navalny’s illness

The Kovrov City Court of the Vladimir Region postponed consideration of two lawsuits filed by Alexei Navalny against correctional colony No. 6 due to the plaintiff’s illness, reported “RIA Novosti” in the instance. According to Yulia Navalnaya, the politician told her in a letter dated January 2 that he had caught a cold and had a high temperature for more than a week.

Ms. Navalnaya wrote about her husband’s cold on her Instagram page (owned by the recognized extremist and banned in the Russian Federation Meta). She said that Alexei Navalny was not being treated, “the conditions of detention were being deliberately worsened” and that the lawyer was not allowed to hand over the medicines.

In the Telegram channel of Alexei Navalny, a message dated January 9 says that he spent the New Year in a punishment cell. The convict said that his neighbor in the ShIZO was transferred from the medical unit, “clogged with flu patients.”

On February 2, 2021, the Simonovsky Court of Moscow replaced Navalny’s suspended sentence in the Yves Rocher case with a real one, serving in a general regime colony for two years and eight months. On March 22, 2022, the Lefortovo Court of Moscow sentenced Alexei Navalny to nine years in a strict regime colony under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud on an especially large scale), as well as under parts 1 and 2 of Art. 297 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (contempt of court).

In June 2022, the politician was transferred from correctional colony No. 2, also located in the Vladimir region, to penal colony No. 6 of a strict regime. According to the file of cases on the website of the Kovrov City Court, since August 2022, the oppositionist has filed 20 lawsuits against IK-6.
