After a year of work, Decathlon Outdoor announces the complete overhaul of its site and application. In addition to a new design, the latter aims to be more intuitive and offers new features in order to “make outdoor outings even more accessible and pleasant”.
We often get tired of doing the same outings all the time, going around in loops and it is not uncommon to not have time to plan our route. Still others do not dare to venture out for fear of getting lost or finding themselves on a hike beyond their physical capacity. Decathlon Outdoor presents itself as the antithesis of this observation.
In just a few minutes, we know where to go. Simply customize search filters and choose from more than 40,000 outings on foot, by bike or on snowshoes created, rated, commented by the community of more than 200,000 members and validated by a team of experts.
The main new features
The entire design of the application has been redesigned to make it even easier to use. Likewise, custom filters have been created to find the ideal exit. The description of the sports and the level of difficulty has been added as well as a new filter by distance to best personalize your choices. Furthermore, it is now possible to visualize the altitude difference of your route using the interactive altimeter profile present in the description sheet of each outing. Finally with the new map which integrates contour lines and anticipated direction announcements, we can know exactly where you are in real time, even without a network. To do this, simply download the route before leaving, take advantage of the voice guidance and the route exit alert.
In a press release, Decathlon indicates that it remains faithful to its mission of making the benefits of sport accessible to as many people as possible. The brand offers this application free of charge. The application is also linked to the Decathlon loyalty account: Decat’Club. For example, one hour out allows you to earn 100 points. It is also possible to accumulate them and transform them into gift cards or carry out a good deed for the planet.
