The dollar’s decline also helped limit the decline in the price of gold, as the dollar’s value index fell today to 109.28 points in morning trading, after its big rise yesterday, on the back of data from the US Department of Labor, which showed a rise in the rate of consumer price inflation during the past month by more than expectations. The index fell during trading by 0.3% from its level yesterday.
