The Depardieu affair is still causing a lot of ink to flow. As a reminder, the actor is indicted for rape after a complaint from actress Charlotte Arnould. Anny Duperey, actress, spoke to our colleagues at Ciné-Télé-Revue about the behavior of Gérard Depardieu and she doesn’t hold back. “Depardieu is completely crazy. Now, it’s not worth talking about it for hours… When I performed a play by Bertrand Blier, I reacted to Depardieu’s comments, I don’t remember which ones, by saying: ‘Depardieu should shut your big mouth!’ He was still deified at the time. What did I dare to say! I had attacked our god of cinema. ‘But why do you hate him?’ Blier, who knows him well, declared: ‘Anny says what we all think, including his best friends.’

The actress notably explained to Télé 7 Jours at the beginning of January that thirteen years ago she had asked the actor to “shut up” after being exasperated by his excesses of all kinds. “At a time when he was sacred and not yet cursed, I got a slap on the wrist for daring to publicly tell him to ‘shut the fuck up’. Gérard is out of the loop mentally, he’s been losing his mind for a while now. This is not a reason to ban all his films,” she explained.
