The Devils at the top – TVA Sports

The New Jersey Devils joined the Carolina Hurricanes in points in the standings by beating them 3-0 on Sunday night.

Both clubs have 94 points on the clock. The “Canes” still rank first in the Metropolitan section, since they played one game less.

The Hurricanes were also shut out in a second game in a row, having suffered this affront against the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday night. This time, goaltender Vitek Vanecek stopped all 32 shots. It’s his third shutout of the season and ninth of his career in the NHL.

At the other end of the rink, Pyotr Kochetkov gave up three times on 23 shots. He was foiled by Jack Hughes and Jesper Bratt (twice). The first of the two skaters also obtained assists on the two successes of the 24-year-old Swede.
Hughes has 79 points in 62 games so far this season. It’s by far the best career campaign for the very first pick in the 2019 draft.
