Through a press release dated April 20, 2023, the Director General of Customs recalls that the export by land of cashew nuts, soybeans and agricultural inputs (fertilizers, herbicides, sprayers, etc.) is formally prohibited. It is within the framework of the implementation of the agricultural and industrial policy of the Government. Failure to comply with this prohibition as well as any attempt to fraudulently export agricultural products by land constitutes a customs smuggling offense punishable by prison sentences of up to five (05) years and by the payment of heavy fines.
