After months of delay, the Emmy Awards, which were already scheduled for September last year, will be presented tomorrow (local time). The reason for the postponement of the world’s most important television award was the double strike by writers and actors that paralyzed Hollywood for months.
Now in Los Angeles, of all things, a family epic about a threatened media empire is the favorite in the race for awards in the main categories: The social satire “Succession” led the field this year with 27 nominations. In particular, victory in the premier category “Best Drama Series” is considered very likely.
Lots of chances for “The Last of US” and “The White Lotus”
The video game adaptation “The Last of Us”, which received 24 nominations, and the luxury tourism satire “The White Lotus” with 23 nominations also have high hopes for awards. Actor nominees include stars such as Daniel Radcliffe, Jessica Chastain and Kevin Hart.
