The English version of TELETOON will change its name after 25 years

TELETOON, the most popular children’s television channel in Canada, will become Cartoon Network, an American brand that has become a reference in the world of animation. The French version will not be affected by the change.

The change will take place on March 27, according to Corus Entertainment, the group that manages TELETOON.

The company claims that this transition will allow it to offer a larger catalog of cartoons. The programming that existed on TELETOON will be retained and will be added to that of Cartoon Network.

Cartoon Network, which already existed in Canada, will become Boomerang. It will offer retro content with animation classics like Tom and Jerry, Powerpuff Girls or Jellystone.

Corus Entertainment recently launched TELETOON+, a service that is available on multiple streaming platforms.

The TELETOON channel has made it possible to broadcast several cult programs such as Totally Spies!, 6teen, Johnny Test or The Island of Extreme Challenges.
