The Fujifilm X-S20 is undoubtedly the successor of the X-S10 two years ago, and it is infinitely similar in appearance and feel. The problem is that the X-S10 was initially positioned as an entry-level product, but today’s X-S20 has been upgraded in many details, and the specifications are not just an entry-level model. Faster processing of focusing is more convenient
As an upgraded version, the speedup of the Fujifilm X-S20 is expected. First, the image processing engine was upgraded from X-Processor 4 to X-Processor 5, which greatly doubled the processing capacity. The processing power has been improved, and the speed and accuracy of focusing have been greatly enhanced. With the new AI subject detection autofocus function, it can automatically focus on human bodies, animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, airplanes, trains, insects and drones. It still supports face detection, eye detection, and even chooses to detect the left eye and right eye. If there are too many things to focus on automatically, the focus is on speed improvement. It corresponds to the detection speed of human faces, pets, and cars. The improvement is particularly obvious.
Flexibility for Handheld Shooting
Although the sensitivity of the X-S20 is still maintained at ISO160-12800 (ISO80-ISO51200 extension), with the support of the new 5-axis anti-vibration body, it can provide up to 7 levels of compensation, one level more than the previous generation. On the other hand, the maximum shutter speed reaches 1/4000s (mechanical shutter) and 1/32000s (electronic shutter), which also provides another flexibility for handheld shooting.
It is worth mentioning that there is also its continuous shooting effect. In fact, the continuous shooting speed of the X-S20 is the same as that of the X-S10, but the buffer memory provided by the X-S20 is much larger. Under the continuous shooting of 30fps (1.25x crop), it can swallow 88 RAW / 407 JPG continuously. Not a problem, while the X-S10 slows down at 17 RAW / 29 JPG. So even if the continuous shooting speed does not increase, it will still feel more comfortable to use.

Today, the camera’s video shooting ability has become more and more important, and the X-S20 is no exception. There are two improvements in video shooting. Inside, it has added 6.2K 30p shooting support, which can make full use of every inch of the APS-C film sensor to shoot, and for details, it also adds 4K @ 60p, 10-bit 4:2:2 video recording, 360Mbps The highest bitrate and 12-Bit RAW HDMI output are some more professional output settings. In addition, you can see that there is an additional Vlog mode on the mode dial. It is a video shooting mode with more preset functions, which is more convenient for product shooting, Selfie, and high-speed photography.
Same sensor, same photo style
But to be honest, X-S20 is not attractive to users of the original X-S10. The most important part is that the new work still uses the old 26 million pixel APS-C format X-Trans CMOS 4 photosensitive element, not the new generation X-Tans CMOS 5/5 HR used in X-T5 and X-H2. In addition, the body design of the X-S20 is 90% similar to the X-S10, and the size and feel are almost the same. Since the color style and imaging capabilities are similar, will users choose it for a faster and more comfortable operating experience? Upgrading can be said to be an unknown number.
