The general meeting of Lous Esbérits de la Balée took place on Thursday February 15, 2024 in the town hall performance hall in the presence of Henri Sousbielle, deputy in charge of associations, representing the excused mayor Didier Larrazabal, and approximately 140 members out of the 248 in this association bringing together people of the 3rd age, one of the largest in the department. Secretary Christian Bonelli detailed the activity report: the lottery, the senior gym, the card games, the Telethon lottery which brought in €1,200, the one-day trips: to the Aspe valley (April) , in Hendaye-Béhobie (May), wood pigeon outing with meal at the Col de Gamia and Arnéguy (October), the end of season meal in Morlaàs (November), the 5-day trip to the Luberon (September); without forgetting the activities and events organized by the Departmental Federation: the sector information day in Igon, the departmental AG in Mourenx, the interclub meeting day in Saint-Boès, the cultural games, the solidarity day in Mauléon at benefit of the Couturières du Cœur de Barcus.
Treasurer Claudette Bergeret presented the finances; they are healthy and well managed. The contribution increases from €17 to €18.
President Suzon Couret indicated the stability of the workforce; the association has 248 members. She gave information concerning the activities planned in 2024 by the Departmental Federation (AG in Mourenx, meeting day in Sames, solidarity in Bonnut, cultural games), and also by the club (meals, Telethon and travel trips). a day not yet scheduled and the getaway to Portugal in September).
