The famous Qamar al-Din drink in Ramadan… does it increase blood cholesterol?

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN)– Qamar al-Din is a popular drink that adorns the dining table during the month of Ramadan.

And the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, through its official account on Twitter, indicated a rumor stating that Qamar Al-Din drink can cause disorders for diabetics, and it also increases cholesterol in the blood.

The authority explained that it may affect diabetics because of its preparation with high amounts of sugar. It also has not been proven to affect cholesterol in the blood.

The authority advised to reduce its consumption, and prepare it at home using fresh apricots, and a lower amount of sugar.

This enables you to enjoy this refreshing drink in a more healthy way.
