The fate of “BICQLO Tan” when “BICQLO” UNIQLO is closed Store anthropomorphic character: J-CAST Trend[Full text display]

BICQLO, a commercial facility in Shinjuku, Tokyo. The “BICQLO UNIQLO Shinjuku East Exit Store” that is open here will close on June 19, 2022.

BicCamera is working on an anthropomorphic character called “Bicqlo Tan”. I’m worried about the trend after the store closes.

One of the “Bikame Musume”

BICQLO opened on September 27, 2012. It was born in collaboration with UNIQLO, which handles clothing, and Bic Camera, a consumer electronics retailer.

Since 2015, BicCamera has been carrying out a project to create anthropomorphic characters for each store under the name “Biccame Musume”.

As of May 20, 2022, there are dozens of bikkame girls, such as “Mito-tan” which is anthropomorphic of “Mito station store” and “Shinjuku west exit tan” which is the image of “Shinjuku west exit store”. The official Twitter account of each store uses the icon of Bikkame Musume. PR tweets of products and campaigns are carried out in the form that the character announces the store.

The above-mentioned “Bicqlo Tan” is an anthropomorphic version of “Bicqlo BicCamera Shinjuku West Exit”. It is a character featuring “odd-eyed cats” whose eyes are different on the left and right. There is a dedicated Twitter account under the name “Bicqlo he is BicCamera Shinjuku East Exit”.

The name “BICQLO” will disappear from the store name, but it is scheduled to continue operations as “BICQLO Shinjuku East Exit Store” from June 20th. So what about the treatment of BICQLO-tan? J-CAST Trend interviewed BicCamera public relations.

Since the Bic Camera in Bicqlo will not close, the current Twitter account will continue. However, about Bicqlo-tan,

I told you. As soon as it is decided, it will be announced on Twitter.
