The first African Climate Summit ended on Wednesday with the adoption of a “Nairobi Declaration”, aimed at realizing the continent’s potential for green growth.

The Democratic Republic of Congo has asked the Security Council to speed up the process of withdrawing Monusco. According to the Congolese authorities, the United Nations Mission has failed to put an end to the cycles of violence in the east of the country, nor to ensure the protection of civilians, its main mission. Monusco evokes a gradual and responsible departure.
