Dr. Mohamed Attia, Vice President of Mansoura University for Education and Student Affairs, said that the university administration did not receive any complaints regarding the reported incident of slapping a student and taking off her veil by a university employee.

Attia added: “My office door is open for the student and her family to submit an official complaint to take the necessary investigation into it.”

And the Vice President of Mansoura University added, in exclusive statements to Masrawy: “It was more appropriate for the student to go to the police station and write an official report regarding this, and the university administration is cooperating with the investigation authorities, especially that every place inside the university is monitored by cameras.”

The pioneers of the social networking site “Facebook” circulated a number of posts, including a student from the city of Desouq in the Kafr El-Sheikh governorate, being slapped in the face by a Mansoura University employee, pulling her from her hijab, stripping her head, and detaining her inside the university.

The 18-year-old student, Habiba Walid Al-Rifi, told “Masrawy” that she went to Mansoura University yesterday, Tuesday, with two of her colleagues, to take aptitude tests regarding joining the Faculty of Fine Arts, Mansoura University, and she fell unconscious due to the crowding, and a member of the administrative security asked her to go up to the department Student Affairs at the College of Fine Arts so that she would not faint again, and when she entered, one of the female employees asked her to leave to prevent overcrowding.

The student added: “I told the employee what happened to me because of the crowd, and she insisted on her position, and a verbal altercation occurred between us, which caused the employee to assault me ​​by slapping me in the face and pushing me on the ground, pulling me from my hijab, stripping my head, and detaining me inside the department with two female colleagues.”

Yasmina added: “The employee’s first reaction was to respond to my colleague nervously and slapped her in the face, and Habiba objected to what happened to her. What was the employee but that she pulled her from her veil and pushed her on the ground and bared her head, and colleagues of the employee in the department attacked us with insults and slander.”
