Sina Estavi, CEO of the blockchain company Bridge Oracle, has offered to sell the first tweet on Twitter of founder Jack Dorsey for nearly $48 million on the NFT exchange OpenSea, the non-fungible token. 16 times what he paid for that tweet a year ago at $2.9 million.
Estavi tweeted that he sold Jack Dorsey’s March 21, 2006 tweet for 14,969 ethers.
He also promised to donate 50% of the proceeds from the sale to the charity GiveDirect.
Dorsey responded to the tweet, “Why not 99% of it?” He meant the proceeds, adding Elon Musk’s account in his response, knowing that the latter occupied social media in recent days after buying a stake in Twitter and entering the board of directors.
