Serious negligence in Neyyatinkara General Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram. The baby, who was only four days old, fell on the ground and injured his head. Relatives told Manorama News that the accident happened after they were handed over to a nurse for examination. The hospital authorities confirmed that the baby fell on the ground and informed that an investigation is underway.
The baby boy was born four days ago to Suresh and Sheela, natives of Neyyattinkara. Anita’s grandmother brought the baby to the examination room for pre-discharge examinations. The nurse took the baby in her arms and asked Anita to stay away. Anita said that the next step is to pick up the baby from the ground and knock it out.
The child’s family has alleged gross negligence on the part of the hospital staff. The baby is currently undergoing treatment at SAT Hospital. The doctor and the baby came to SAT from Neyyatinkara hospital. SAT officials informed that there is no need to worry about the baby’s health condition.
