Today, José Mourinho prefers to laugh about it. But not sure the mood was similar at the time. Questioned by his former Chelsea player John Obi Mikel in “The Obi One Podcast”, the Special One returned to the case of Lassana Diarra, a player he met first with the Blues (2005-2007) then at Real Madrid between 2010 and 2012. Hilariously, the one who is now sitting on the Roma bench revealed a funny anecdote.
“All my white hair on the right side is because of Lassana Diarra and his agent,” he joked. “Lassana Diarra’s agent was like this: if Lassana started the match, played 90 minutes and played Well, the next day he wanted a new contract and more money. If he didn’t play and went to the bench, on Monday he wanted a meeting to make him go.”
To conclude on the subject, however, Mourinho wanted to say that Diarra, who played for OM and PSG, was a “fantastic player” who played “everywhere”, in the biggest European clubs. By leaving behind, obviously, both good and bad memories.
