While Apple captures attention with its upcoming iPhone 15, Samsung, behind the scenes, is refining its response. The very active leaker, Ice Universe, reveals clues suggesting that the South Korean giant is considering major changes for its Galaxy S24 range.
When talking about smartphone launches, iPhones often tend to take center stage. Thus, the frenzy around the imminent announcement of the iPhone 15 is palpable. However, behind the scenes, the South Korean giant Samsung is quietly preparing its next coup, with the release of the Galaxy S24 expected for the beginning of 2024. And if the rumors turn out to be true, Samsung could well offer some surprises.
The return of angular shapes: a nod to the iPhone 14?
According to leaks provided by leaker Ice Universe, very active on X (Twitter), the Galaxy S24 range could sport a significantly different design from its predecessors. Indeed, Samsung would consider abandoning the soft and rounded curves that currently characterize the Galaxy S23 to opt for a chassis with more angular lines. In particular, flat side edges are the order of the day.
If these indications are confirmed, the resemblance between the Galaxy S24 and the current generation of iPhone 14 would be quite striking.
The question then is: is this a purely aesthetic choice on Samsung’s part, or a deliberate attempt to evoke the popular design of its direct competitor, Apple?
Under the hood: Snapdragon and Exynos in tandem
In terms of performance, the Galaxy S24 would not expect to be left behind. For the American market, Samsung would consider integrating the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, while for Europe, the Exynos 2400 would make a comeback. These chips, expected for 2024, promise to offer more RAM memory and storage capacities compared to previous models. The screen would also benefit from a feature of the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
In addition, for autonomy lovers, Samsung would be working on higher capacity batteries for the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+. This could mean extended usage times, thus meeting the increasing demands of users.
