Today, Sunday, the Saudi Astronomical Society in Jeddah announced that the sky of Cairo and the Arab world will witness in the coming hours an astronomical phenomenon. Conjunction of waning humpback to Jupiterwhich is called the “giant of our solar system”, as the phenomenon continues throughout the night, and is seen with the naked eye in an attractive aesthetic scene.
The Astronomical Society explained that the timing of the occurrence of the conjugation phenomenon will be within one day of the full moon, and the illumination of the moon’s disk will be by 96%, in addition to the convergence of the moon and Jupiter called “the dome of the sky”, and thus the moon is away from Jupiter by only 377,000 km while Jupiter is 596,895,504 kilometers away.
Studies of the Astronomical Society indicate that Jupiter is the fourth brightest planet in the world of space, where the three brightest planets come, such as the Sun, Moon and Venus.
She added that seeing the phenomenon of luminosity comes by watching the planet as a bright white dot, with the aim of monitoring it with the naked eye, and thus it becomes clearer through viewing with binoculars or a small telescope.
The association noted that while observing the moon continuously, it is noticed that its movement is oriented towards the east next to the stars and planets, and therefore we find on the second day a noticeable departure of the moon from Jupiter, heading towards the east.
