The government’s quick shot does little to combat inflation – Alexander Hahn

The turquoise-green government has recently come out with a package of measures once morest inflation. This time, the consequences are not to be alleviated by aid payments, but rather Chancellor Karl Nehammer wants to get to the root of the problem, i.e. the high energy prices. To do this, he increases the pressure on suppliers to reduce prices and swings with the mace of tighter profit skimming. Together with measures such as the public sector fee freeze, this can actually dampen inflation somewhat in the future. However, many details of the design remain open for the time being.
