The girl’s grandmother commented on the Prosecutor’s proposal to acquit the main accused, Ilias Michos, of the charge of rape in the case of the 12-year-old girl in Colonos.
“I have nothing to say, it’s wrong. Now they say, it doesn’t absolve him, he just made a sentence, which is not correct this sentence” and he insisted saying “what he did is not correct”, he said characteristically on the show “Smile Again”.
As for her daughter-in-law, whom the prosecutor found guilty of all charges, she said: “That doesn’t mean anything. He has no proof and the bride is not guilty. She didn’t do that to her child. It is impossible”.
Regarding the child’s psychological state, her grandmother stated: “How do you want him to be with what he sees? It’s an asshole. He gets sad, he cries, he gets hit.”
“I can’t explain this sentence”
The lawyer of the mother of the 12-year-old, Apostolos Lytras, spoke about the matter on the same show.
“My personal opinion is that this specific proposal is not supported anywhere and is unacceptable. We have a motion stating that the main accused for the crime of rape should be acquitted on grounds of doubt. The criminal prosecution was carried out with this offence. Since the evidence of the case file had been leaked from the beginning, it will be mentioned how this happened, the 12-year-old has said that with the use of weapons and threats she found herself romantically involved with him. This is recorded both on paper and on video. He didn’t mention it at all, he ignored it. He didn’t mention the part where the 12-year-old describes her rape.”
“What pissed everyone off is how because the minor had reported the rape, it sounds like ‘discharge on suspicion of rape.’ For this specific defendant, the prosecutor proposed his guilt for pimping, which is done in various ways, one of which is facilitation. But even here she did not dwell on what the 12-year-old said. 12-color has testified about brothels, and she didn’t make a single mention of it. I cannot explain this proposition, it has no basis. What will happen now; Not to express our opinion because he is a prosecutor.”
In relation to the proposal for the mother of the 12-year-old, he said:
“Specialists came. Ms. Themeli, a professor at the University of Crete, saw the videos and testified, without knowing the mother, that the child was telling the truth about the mother as well. The psychiatrist appointed by the prosecution to monitor the 12-year-old gave an opinion that the mother was not responsible. The child cannot be trusted by anyone a la carte. Mother fell from the clouds. The absurdity was that she said more than 20 times that the child is telling the truth but in her proposal for the prosecution the child is lying. My personal opinion is that the court will not adopt this proposal.”
