The IDF allowed publication at the last hour (Friday) of the fall of reserve fighter Eliran Yegar, 36 years old at the time of his death, from Tel Aviv. The funeral will take place on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at 12:00, at Kiryat Shaul Cemetery in Tel Aviv.
The late Yegar served in the 8170 Engineering Battalion, Givati Brigade and was killed on Thursday, Tu of Shebat, in a battle in the south of the Gaza Strip. He left behind a wife and two children.
His shocked and pained friends and acquaintances paid tribute to him on social media: “It doesn’t end every day with bad news. Dear brother, we did an entire route and a military training course together in the same department and you were always a top cannon from the first day of training and you didn’t just end up in the regiment’s sabbatical. I always loved you As a person and as a friend, rest in peace. God truly picks the best.”
Another acquaintance wrote about him: “My heart is broken into pieces, the late Eliran Yager, a dear, special, beloved and humble man, was killed yesterday in the fighting in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip. Eliran was a fighter in the patrol department of the battalion, and left behind a wife and two small children. May his memory be blessed, hero of Israel.”
