The death of Jean-Maurice Bonneau, the news of which we learned today, leaves an immeasurable void in the global equestrian family. Emotion and sadness invaded the ranks of the International Show Jumping Riders Club (IJRC), which spoke this evening through the voice of Eleonora Ottaviani, director, on behalf of the board of directors and the members: “We have lost a professional who we will never forget. Jean-Maurice has expressed his exceptional talents both as an international rider and as a high-level trainer, as a national coach of medal-winning teams, and as a point of reference in the training and development of young talents, in his role as sports advisor and member of the selection jury of the Young Riders Academy, and the support of confirmed champions. His victories and medals, his sporting exploits and his organizational skills will never be forgotten. But above all, we will remember a sincere friend whose sensitivity and enthusiasm upheld the values of ethical sport and the well-being of horses.
