The arrival of new artificial intelligence tools worries and fascinates the world of culture. AI is already capable of intervening at many stages of the creation of a film, from writing the script to creating special effects, including generating images, improving sound or even dubbing and translation. “At the same time, AI is everywhere, it is present throughout the value chain, and at the same time, it is nowhere, in the sense that it is necessary to rework systematically, there is no content of a professional level of quality immediately available“, explains Vincent Luciani, co-founder of the artificial intelligence consultancy Artefact.

By encouraging creation assisted by artificial intelligence, the Artefact AI Film Festival intends “show the extent of possibilities and encourage experimentation”, assures Vincent Luciani. “AI is a tool at the service of creation. MK2 cinemas, major players in arthouse cinema in France and pioneers in the use of technology, will be partners of the event with the intention of showing the perspectives offered to cinema by artificial intelligence but also its boundaries. “There are a lot of worries“about the arrival of artificial intelligence, recognizes Elisha Karmitz, general manager of MK2.”We share them but concern does not mean that we must remain still or wait and see since this technology is evolving very quickly.
