With inflation impacting the household basket, some people are sometimes more tempted to steal from stores.
For over a year, when we go shopping, we never know what amount we will find on the receipt at the end. We must admit that we have felt inflation in supermarkets and that we think twice before buying certain products. While one might think that the most stolen products are the most expensive, that is not the reality at all.
This is the most stolen food in supermarkets
According to data collected by the Center for Retail Research, a British organization, it is simply cheese. But why this? First of all, there is the fact that it is an easy commodity to steal because it is small and therefore easily concealable.
Then, the price of cheese has increased in recent years and some people steal it in the hope of reselling it to restaurateurs or markets. This is all the more true in countries where cheese has to be imported, which considerably increases its sale price.
