Jamal (a father of 3 children) told Sky News Arabia: “My family temporarily moved outside the capital to spend hours during Nasrallah’s television appearance, for fear of its repercussions and similar to what happened to us in 2006, and headed towards relatives in the north of the country. It was just precautionary measures.” .
On another side of the city, dozens of students gathered and went to a commercial complex to celebrate a special occasion. One of them told Sky News Arabia: “We decided to leave the house after the speech. We were not allowed to do so during the day by our parents.”
Madeleine said: “For a month, the Lebanese have been holding prayers so that Hezbollah will not get excited and go to war.”
She added: “After the speech, we will return to reality. It can be said that starting tonight, we will gradually reduce the level of anxiety that we were experiencing.”
In this context, a passerby commented jokingly with his friend in front of a food store, saying: “If you enter our homes, you will find food supplies piled up and water bottles on top of each other… We were ready to flee if Nasrallah took a serious decision to go to war.”

On the security level, Nasrallah’s speech was accompanied by heavy gunfire in various areas near the southern suburb of Beirut, and traffic stopped on the capital’s roads, and in many cities, including Tire and Sidon in the south and Tripoli in the north.
Political analyst Asaad Bishara told Sky News Arabia: “We expected this kind of rhetoric, and it seemed clear that Hezbollah had no intention of being drawn into war.”
Sovereign Front member Bechara Khairallah told Sky News Arabia: “Nasrallah said everything and said nothing.”
He added: “His words were general. They were said a year ago and ten years ago.”
He concluded: “He talked about steadfastness, patience, and a promised victory, and gave us a new date for a new look and great promise, Kammoon.”
