In a new tragic accident in Egypt, 9 people were killed and 5 others were injured when a 5-storey building collapsed in the Hadayek El-Qubba area in Cairo. Civil protection forces and the police immediately moved to the scene.
For his part, the governor of Cairo confirmed the arrest of the owner of the collapsed property for carrying out violating acts without a permit that led to the collapse. He also decided to form an engineering committee to examine the collapsed property and evacuate the neighboring properties as a precaution to show the extent of their impact from the collapse, and the Public Prosecution office has launched investigations.
It turned out that the property consists of 5 floors with load-bearing walls and concrete ceilings on the ground, and the initial inspection indicates that the reason for the collapse of the property was that the owner of the first floor of the property (who was caught) committed violating acts without permission from the neighborhood by demolishing one of the load-bearing internal walls for the purpose of expansion, which affected the property and led to its collapsing.
Compensation to the families of the victims
Immediately and urgently, the National Alliance for Civil Development Action announced the provision of the necessary support to the families affected by the collapse of the property on Monday morning.
The coalition announced the disbursement of urgent financial compensation of 50,000 pounds to the family of the deceased, and it also announced the disbursement of 25,000 pounds for each of the victims of the property collapse.
Immediately, the volunteers of the National Alliance deployed extensively immediately after the accident, to provide all necessary support to the families of the victims and the injured of the collapsed property in the Hadayek al-Qubba area of Cairo Governorate.

The Rescue Operations Room of the Cairo Security Directorate had received a report stating that a property consisting of a ground floor and 4 floors had collapsed. Immediately, the Civil Protection forces and the police moved to the place of the communication in the Hadayek al-Qobba area, and pushed the ambulance facility with two cars.
Immediately, the Civil Protection forces moved to extract the victims from the bottom of the rubble, and so far managed to recover 9 bodies from under the rubble, and 5 others were injured, and they were transferred to Al-Demerdash Hospital to receive the necessary treatment.
The Civil Protection Forces continue their efforts to recover the victims, and a report of the incident is issued to notify the Public Prosecution, and an investigation is underway to take the necessary measures regarding the incident, and two neighboring properties have been evacuated until their safety is checked.
