Delhi: The Indian Football Team for the friendly football match against Bahrain has been announced this month. The 25 – member squad was announced by coach Igor Stimac shortly after the end of the ISL 2021-22 season. The team consists of seven newcomers. Prabhusukhan Gill, the Kerala Blasters goalkeeper in the ISL, and Hormipam, a defender, made the team.

Apart from them, Malayalee player VP Zuhair is also in the 25 member team. Danish Farooq, Anwar Ali, Roshan Singh and Aniket Yadav are the new faces in the 25 – member squad. Malayalee player Sahal Abdul Samad, who was injured during the ISL, was not considered for the team. The team also has Jackson Singh, who shined for the Blasters in the ISL.

India will play their first friendly match against Bahrain on Wednesday. The second match will be played on the 26th. The tournament will be held in Manama, Bahrain. Bahrain leads India in FIFA rankings In the FIFA rankings, India is ranked 104th and Bahrain is ranked 91st. If they beat Bahr, India could move up in the FIFA rankings later this month.

India are playing in friendly matches as part of preparations for the third round of the AFC Cup Asian Cup qualifiers in June. The Indian team’s new mission is to qualify for the 2023 Asia Cup in Mainland, China.
