Kerala Blasters FC have extended the contract of Croatian defender Marco Leskovic. Until 2024 Leskovich will be part of the Blasters. Leskovic joined the Blasters from GNK Dynamo Zagreb (Dynamo Zagreb).
The 31-year-old began his professional football career in 2009. It started with the youth team of NKOC. He made his debut for the main team in 2011. Played in 56 matches. He scored five goals. In 2013, HNK arrived in Reykjavk. The contract was for four years. He went down in 41 games in the second season. To Dynamo Zagreb in July 2016. In January 2020 he played for NK Locomotive on loan. This was followed by the signing of a contract with the Blasters. He went down in 21 games this season. 38 tackles and 37 interceptions.
At the national level, Leskovic has represented the country in all youth competitions, from the Under-18s to the Under-21s. He made his Croatian senior national team debut in 2014 against Argentina. This Croatian player is a versatile talent. He plays as a center back, left back and defensive midfielder.
‘I am excited to continue with the Kerala Blasters. We got to the edge last season, and this season’s goal is just the cup. Leskovic said he would achieve that under coach.
“I am just happy to be with Marco. He is the best player in the league. “It will be a great achievement if we can maintain his consistency on the pitch for at least the next two years,” said Blasters Sporting Director Carolis Schinkis.
