The land will be handed over to the fishermen to build a housing complex

The Cabinet meeting has decided to hand over land to the Fisheries Department to build a building complex to rehabilitate fish workers in Thiruvananthapuram district. Out of the 17.43 acres of land held by the Dairy Development Department at Muttatha village in Thiruvananthapuram district, 8 acres of land will be transferred to the Fisheries Department by keeping the ownership of the land in the Revenue Department as per the terms of land transfer between the Departments of Land Services.

Kochi Metro Rail project extension from Petta to Tripunithura will be given renewed administrative approval. In addition to the current administrative sanction amount of Rs.123 crores, additional Rs.8,10,28,411 crores required for land acquisition will be given a revised administrative sanction of Rs.131 crores.

The cabinet meeting also decided to hand over the ownership of 1.4318 hectares of revenue land in Bhimanadi village in Vellarikund taluk of Kasaragod district to forest department in lieu of the forest land that will be lost due to the development of Vadakancherry-Thrissur section national highway (forest land acquired for the construction of Kothiran tunnel).
