The #LÀPOURTOI campaign aims to undo prejudices about shrinks

by Alexandra Hartman Editor-in-Chief

From Monday, following the world suicide prevention day this Saturday, the #LÀFORTOI campaign will be broadcast on social networks. This year, Stop Suicide tackles “the prejudices that surround mental health care and deter requests for help from professionals”.

“A prioris regarding shrinks, therapy or even mental health care are still very widespread today. These ‘mental obstacles’, present at the individual level and at the global level, have the effect of fueling the taboo around mental health and of discouraging the people concerned from broaching the subject with those around them or with specialists”, explains the ‘association.

To draw attention to this phenomenon, the association went to meet young people in French-speaking Switzerland to gather their point of view on prevention, helplines, shrinks and mental health in general. The floor is also given to mental health professionals to deepen these questions and explain their role in the prevention network.

This 2022 campaign will also be marked by the launch of a Tik Tok account and a series of podcasts.
