The Cartenz-2024 Peace Operation Task Force together with the Amole 2024 Task Force and the Nanggala Task Force succeeded in shooting dead 2 Papuan KKB members in the Mimika area. The two Papuan KKB members who died were suspected to be Abubakar Kogoya or (ABK), and Demianus Magay (DM) on Thursday (4/4) at around 15.00 WIT.
“The two active KKB members were declared dead after law enforcement was carried out by the Cartenz Damai Ops task force around Kali Kabur, Mile 69, Tembagapura District, Mimika Regency,” said Head of Cartenz Damai Ops-2024, AKBP Bayu Suseno, Friday (5/4) .
Head of the Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Public Relations Task Force, AKBP Bayu Suseno, said that apart from shooting dead the two Papuan KKB members, the team also managed to secure evidence in the form of a short-barreled sig sauer firearm along with 1 magazine and ammunition.
Bayu Suseno added that law enforcement action against the Papua KKB was a quick response from the Cartenz-2024 Peace Task Force in maintaining security in the Papua region.
“Law enforcement against the KKB is a quick response from the Cartenz 2024 Peace Task Force in an effort to overcome security in the Mimika area and confirm the commitment of the security forces to protect the community from the threat of armed criminal groups,” said Bayu.
Bayu added that currently the two bodies are being evacuated from the crime scene for safekeeping in Timika.
“Yes. We will evacuate the two bodies to a safe place to make it easier for us to carry out detailed identification,” concluded Bayu.
