If everyone agrees that it is essential to initiate a transformation of construction, the means of this implementation remain very uncertain.
For many, the energy transition is at the heart of efforts, but it is considered in a very reductive way.
The decarbonization of construction activities is inevitable. However, it is seen as a constraint that could be lifted by means specific to the GHG problem, but without any particular consequence on the entire context. This silo treatment would only require appropriate purely technological solutions, all things being equal. However, the certainty of a result is not acquired and this is also the reason which explains the slowness of their implementation. And this does not go without creating a collective malaise which is that of indecision and inaction, the threat of which increases every day.
The question that then arises is that of defining a common thread authorizing the adjustment at any time of a responsible trajectory.
The objective is to be able to instrument ecological and solidarity planning so that each actor is a proactive agent. In a more prosaic way, it is about allowing each professional to make daily decisions with full knowledge of the facts. The idea is to regain the ability to direct each action in a documented manner and to regain the feeling of being able to “control the course of things” and no longer have to endure it. This operational dimension will be constant throughout this booklet.
To this end, the exercise that will be deployed is organized in three stages.
The first must be described as epistemological. Looking for a tool that facilitates action requires first thinking about the very nature of the objective pursued. The object sought is, without a doubt, technical. However, the question is not relative to its nature, but rather to its method of implementation. What are the characteristics of an action process? How can an instrument be a decision-making aid that supports the ongoing process? The question does not concern the consistency of the knowledge required, but the capacity to mobilize it.
The second consists of a return to the particularities of the concept of energy. Even beyond its physical nature, one of the remarkable properties available is that of the mobilization of numerous dynamic dimensions: uses, consumption, temporality. Addressing energy also means associating parameters which reflect the course of things and which, until now, did not fall within the scope of concerns of those involved in the construction project.
Finally, the last is defined as the logical continuation of the proposed approach. The aim is to combine the two previous lessons to propose methodological advances in a quest for decision support at all stages of a project. The interest of this work is to propose, not a panel around the same reading prism which is that of energy, but the mobilization of all the dimensions structuring our ecosystem. For us, it is about being able to act in full harmony with our territory.
