The Libyan market captures 60.5% of Tunisian fruit exports

The Libyan market has captured 60.5% of Tunisian fruit exports since the beginning of the year until July 3, 2023, although the quantities exported to this market have decreased by 34.4%, (with a drop in revenue 6%).

The National Observatory of Agriculture (ONAGRI) indicated, in a note published Thursday, that the Libyan market imported around 9.9 thousand tons of fruit, as of July 3, 2023, against 15 thousand tons on the same period last year.

Libya imported from Tunisia this year, mainly fishing (2.494 tonnes, or 43.4% of the total quantity imported).

Italy is ranked second, with a quantity of 4,632 tons of fruit, worth about 9.2 million dinars (MD), which represents a decrease compared to the same period of 2022 in quantities ( -15.5%) and in value (-30%).

It is important to note that watermelon is at the top of the list of fruits imported by Italy from Tunisia (90.9% of its total fruit imports).
