The Captain Carlos Alicea Contrerasdirector of the CIC of Caguas, told The new day that, for unknown reasons at this time, Zayas Carrasquillo, who lives with his family in San Lorenzo, arrived on Wednesday at the parking lot of the Punta Santiago resort in Humacao, where he left his gray Toyota Corolla.
The Police found his vehicle yesterday, Thursday, in the spa parking lot, so they concentrated their search in that area.
“Yesterday (Thursday) we carried out a search (by land, air and sea) throughout the Punta Santiago area and we ended up around 8:00 at night without being able to find it. We returned early this morning to continue the search and I received a call from a citizen who said he had seen Zayas Carrasquillo yesterday in the Húcares neighborhood of Naguabo. So we concentrated on searching that beach and At 2:30 pm my Homicide (Division) supervisor saw a jet ski with two people on board.”, Contreras recounted by telephone.
The officer stressed that the description offered by the homicide supervisor of the passenger agreed with that of Zayas Carrasquillo, so they decided to order the jet ski operator to stop.
“The movements of the jet ski over land were tracked. I was in the La Fanduca sector and the supervisor told me ‘Captain, a jet ski is going to come out of that area.’ Then we see the jet ski and I motion for it to stop and come to shore because it looked like it would continue to another dock that was further away. The jet ski operator showed some reluctance to follow orders, and seeing that he intended to leave, we jumped into the water and lowered them. Zayas Carrasquillo was the passengerContreras said.

The director of the CIC of Caguas said that, after verifying the identity of Zayas Carrasquillo, they called an ambulance and notified his family to indicate that he was found alive.
