The Mavs win in Denver at the finish (116-115)

At the end of a knife match, the Mavs managed a big blow by going to win by a short header in Denver (116-115). Third victory in a row for Dallas, which returns to the Top 8 in the West.

For the little box score made in TrashTalk, follow the magic link.

What if the Mavs had finally passed the second? Since the sad defeat in Detroit last week, Dallas has had a string of successes. An XXL victory in New York, another at home against Phoenix, and now a victory in Denver, never an easy room to conquer. Perhaps a little early to be too certain about the level of Jason Kidd’s players, but there is still something positive to be learned from the last games. We think in particular of Tim Hardaway Jr., back in the starting five and who hasn’t stopped scoring since. This night again THJ blazed the string from the parking lot (29 points, 7/12 shooting including 6/8 from afar), confirming his role as Luka Doncic’s first mate, in a triple-double but clumsy and uninspired in an unbreathable end to the match. Fortunately for the Slovenian talent, strong fellows were there to take care of current affairs. We talked about Hardaway, we will also mention Dorian Finney-Smith, the eternal soldier who transforms all of Dallas as soon as he finds a little skill at long distance. And if he can go and install a little air conditioning in an opposing room, he obviously won’t deprive himself.

Denver side, Nikola Jokic will have released some of his usual magic tricks even if he was rather well limited last night by Dallas and above all he misses a crucial free throw at the end of the match which could have changed everything… At his side, Aaron Gordon slams a new big performance that will no longer surprise anyone in Colorado (27 points, 8 rebounds, 10/13 in shooting), Bones Hyland is still as hyped as we can only love the job of the shadow of a Bruce Brown, already adopted by an entire state. Short defeat, defeat all the more infuriating suddenly and unfortunately for Denver it’s already three in a row and it takes the Nuggets away from the Top 4 to bring them back into the peloton. There are less than two games difference with the Warriors who are tenth. Next appointment for the band of the Joker: Thursday evening on the side of Portland.

After New York and Phoenix, it’s Denver’s turn to lay down their arms against Dallas. A beautiful series that requires confirmation. That’s good, Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Bucks are in town this Friday. The opportunity to take revenge after the defeat of ten days ago?
