The MFC Swifterbant (The Galley) is open!

The festive opening was last Saturday, April 6. The new name, De Kombuis, was unveiled by councilors Van Bergen and Duvekot, together with residents who came up with names. The name “De Kombuis” was chosen from many suggestions submitted by residents. The jury selected three finalists, following which residents voted for the final name. After the unveiling of the name, Alderman Van Bergen opened the doors of De Kombuis and everyone might take a look.

De Kombuis is a beautiful addition to the village of Swifterbant. The MFC is for all residents of Swifterbant. A place for meeting and connection, where the doors are wide open. Everyone is welcome for great conversations, fun, knowledge and information, borrowing and reading books, newspapers and magazines, shared meals, activities, singing, music, daytime activities and much more. De Meerpaal, FlevoMeer Library and Coloriet Day Center Het Pluspunt offer attractive services and programming for everyone in De Kombuis. They do this together with the residents. The Galley can also be used by local associations. Above the MFC are 30 rental apartments from Oost Flevoland Woondiensten that are rented by residents aged 55 and older.
