MP Crispin Mbindule, author of the motion, makes the Minister of the Economy guilty of this rise in the price of basic necessities. An increase that is close to 50% in some provinces, according to the elected official.

He also accuses the minister of having maintained opacity in the management of some six million dollars disbursed by the government for the purchase of horse mackerel. These fish imported from Namibia should allow the State to control the price on the market. Finally, the deputy affirms that the country has no policy to deal with the crisis.

On the side of the Ministry of the Economy, relatives of Jean-Marie Kalumba recall that the Congolese economy is almost dependent on the international market. They claim that the author of the motion is manipulated by certain economic operators.

Crispin Mbindulé comes from the UNC party of Vital Kamerhe. Already last year, a member of the same political party had questioned the Minister of Telecommunications on the very controversial tax on the register of mobile devices.

The government coalition mobilized last week to obtain the rejection of this motion. But she had trouble convincing the deputies during a meeting. One of the chosen of the Sacred Union had declared to RFI that there will be no question during the vote of scoring a goal against his own camp.
