Interior Minister Abdelouafi Laftit said on Monday that his department is in the process of preparing a legal framework for auxiliaries of authority.
Responding to an oral question on ” the situation of the chioukhs and moqadems formulated by the National Rally of Independents (RNI) group in the House of Representatives, Mr. Laftit explained that the Ministry of the Interior is working to develop a legal framework for auxiliaries of authority, who have is doing a “tremendous” job during the pandemic period.
He added that this legal text will be published soon in order to establish an adequate framework for this category.

The Minister of the Interior praised, in this regard, the work of this category in recent years, especially during the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic, while expressing his thanks to all the auxiliaries of authority.
This category, which represents a great weight in the Ministry of the Interior, benefits from all the legal privileges, insisted Mr. Laftit, noting that his department has given since 2015 to auxiliaries of authority the opportunity to access the rank of ” caïd khalifa« .
He said that between 130 and 140 auxiliaries of authority are promoted annually, stressing that the ministry is working to increase this number in order to open up horizons for this category.
