I open a social network today. A yellow circle with the inscription “Not my king” catches the eye, replacing the photo on the page of the Scottish girlfriend. Her countrymen have the same yellow plaques. Hmmm, it looks like the newly crowned British monarch Charles III will have a hard time.
– What’s happened? – I’m interested in a friend. For more than 20 years of acquaintance with the kings, she did not express any claims and was always against the secession of Scotland.
– It’s disgusting to spend 250 million pounds on a coronation when we have students in our school who are starving! she gets excited. – It’s time to protest against the monarchy.

In fact, after the death of the old woman Elizabeth, who knew how to smooth sharp corners, dissatisfaction with the royal family is growing rapidly. Nationalist sentiments are growing in the countries of the British Commonwealth – the former colonies, where the English king is considered to be the ruler to this day, are eager for freedom. Barbados fled the British crown two years ago after 400 years of British rule. Others are going to follow his example: referendums are scheduled in the Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Antigua and Barbuda. The Jamaican authorities are postponing the date of the will – they want to secede faster and receive reparations for the years of the slave trade, and they are also waiting for an apology for colonization. And then last year, Prince William, during a visit to human trafficking, of course, condemned, but did not consider it necessary to apologize. In Canada and Australia, so far only rallies are held and the flags of Great Britain are burned.
India does not get tired of making claims: recently, economist Utsa Patnaik calculated that during the years of colonization from 1765 to 1938, the monarchy siphoned out $45 trillion (in modern equivalent) of resources from the country. For comparison: the UK’s annual GDP is $3 trillion. Can you imagine what will happen when all the former colonies bill her?
But the government sees the problem not in the snickering members of the royal family, but in the citizens.
– If you do not want to live in a country where there is a monarchy, then protesting with your stupid slogans is not a solution. The decision – to leave this country – sent people who went out to rallies during the coronation, the deputy chairman of the ruling Conservative Party, Lee Anderson. In vain he is. When the authorities are terribly far from the people, it sometimes ends badly.
Ironed laces

He took money for charity from relatives of Osama bin Laden, sold titles to Saudi tycoons, and somehow blurted out right into the included microphones before a press conference: “I hate journalists!”
Charles seems to have done everything to spoil the story with Princess Diana, which was presented as a beautiful fairy tale. By the way, the ancient coronation ceremony was brought into line with modern requirements. For example, the anointing was carried out with vegan oil – the secret of the civet glands (this is a tropical animal) was excluded from its composition in order to please the “greens”. A combined choir featuring refugees, deaf people and members of the LGBT community performed at the gala concert. And members of the royal family, except for William, and peers were allowed not to kneel before the monarch, they say, this is “male chauvinism.”
