Actress Nelly married more than once, the first of which was with director Hossam El Din Mostafa, who directed several films for her, and the marriage was the culmination of a love story, but it soon ended in divorce.
In a previous interview in 1971, “Nelly” explained that Hossam asked for her hand in a nightclub in the center of the Lebanese capital, and gave her an engagement ring, and the price was 1500 pounds, but she asked for a divorce from him after only three months of marriage because of his desire to retire from art, and she told him: “I want to go.”
