Mother’s Day is knocking at our doors. For many of us, it’s a woman telling us we should let go of the controllers and play outside. For others, it’s a formidable playmate!

In any case, let’s remember the most outstanding mothers in video games. OK. As in all my charts, I have to establish rules:
Here the person must be directly the mother of an important character in the game. For example, the grandmother of The Legend Of Zelda : Wind Waker must have been a mother in her life…because that’s a prerequisite for being a grandmother unless there’s been some dubious time-space travel!
But she is not the mother of Link nor of anyone present during our adventure. I like it very much, but I cannot include it in this article.
This rule makes it so that I don’t even know if I can talk about Cooking Mama here even though Mama is in the title! Oh and also as an adopted childI will not specify each time when it comes to a mother adoptive.
10- Samara – Mass Effect 2
Imagine giving birth to a series of bloodthirsty mutants. This is exactly what happened with Samara, an Asari who gave birth to three Ardat-Yakshi. This genetic change makes them ruthless murderers.
Fortunately, two of them have isolated themselves, but Morinth destroys everything in its path. Shepard can decide which side to take: Samara or Morinth. Only one of the two can survive.
Wow. I will try to be happier in this list. After all, it’s Mother’s Day!
9- Joyce Price – Life Is Strange
Let’s go from an alien universe to the state of Oregon. Although it seems that there are strange fanatics in both places!
Joyce’s introduction is pretty typical. It is a mother angry with her teenager for family bickering as we have already seen. On the other hand, over time, we understand that Joyce must combine with a deceased husband in addition to a daughter who is really not easy to manage.
The most realistic of this list, Joyce Price reminds us that even “ordinary” life carries its share of daily burdens. OK. Wow. For what festive, I still missed my shot!
8- Mom – Animal Crossing
Island life is pretty quiet in Animal Crossing. Our arrival on the island in the name of our choice remains quite cut off from our origins. Fortunately, Maman writes to us often enough to give us love…and gifts!
A sweet portrayal of motherhood here!
7- Mom – Earthbound
As Ness goes on an adventure, Mom will stay safe in Onett. Let’s not forget that Ness is just a little boy. So he has to call home often otherwise he will be afflicted with the condition homesick.
It will ensure that instead of fighting, Ness will sink into a great depression remembering the good meals of her sweet mother. It’s a great lesson: call your parents!
6- Elena Fisher – Uncharted 4 : A Thief’s End
Opposite to Mom from Earthbound, Elena Fisher shows us that motherhood will never prevent her from going on an adventure!
5- Rosalina – Super Mario Galaxy
Like all characters in Mushroom Kingdom, Rosalina is not so developed. Even though she made her debut in Super Mario Galaxy 16 years ago, I still feel like she’s a new kid on the block.
On the other hand, Nintendo has integrated it into the other festive games of our favorite plumber. We haven’t finished seeing the Lumas’ mother!
4- Freya – God Of War
The gods and goddesses of mythology never have simple stories. This is the case here of Freya. The former wife of the god Odin does everything to protect her son Baldur. Even cast a spell on him that prevents him from feeling anything painful.
On the other hand, this gift also prevents him from living the joys of life. Then, well, play God of War and its sequel to find out what happens. It is really good!
3- Clementine – The Walking Dead
Little Clementine, whom we knew several years ago, has grown up. Now it’s her turn to take care of a young child. There, it’s up to you to decide how it will go!
2- Sonya Blade
Two of my favorite characters from my childhood have started their families – and yes, if you were wondering, a childhood playing Mortal Kombat gives small problems later in life.
Cassie Cage inherited her father’s arrogance and her mother’s skills, Sonya Blade. The latter plays a very important role for the Earthrealm in the last game, but I say no more!
1- Mother Penguin – Super Mario 64
Source of memes since our modems stopped serenading when connecting to the internet, mother penguin has become legendary. That’s why it’s at the top of this list!
And here I am already at the end and I realize that there are many other mothers worth mentioning. I could have talked about games like: Resident Evil 8, Hades and Metal Gear Solid 3 and more!
