The Moulin Rouge’s wind vanes have broken off

No one was injured in the accident. They don’t yet know what caused the shovels to fall, but they don’t think it was likely that the vandalism was intentional.

The wind vanes of the legendary Moulin Rouge building in Paris were torn off. The accident happened on Wednesday evening, after closing time, and no one was injured. This time, tourists looking for the famous red windmill could only see how the workers began to restore the facade of the 19th-century amusement park.

“It’s Montmartre, the epicenter of the bohemian lifestyle and the symbol of Paris. The whole world comes here to take pictures at the Moulin Rouge, well, now they’ll only have a chance to capture the building without the vanes, but I think that the owners of the Moulin Rouge will do everything they can to put them back quickly,” said Stephane Cachelin, head of the local shop owners’ association.

“It’s good that no one was injured, we are lucky. The replacement is not such a difficult matter, it just takes a little time and it will be strange for the tourists,” said a local resident.

It is not yet known what caused the wind blades to fall from the sawmill, but according to the operator, it is more likely that there is some technical problem in the background and not a malicious act.
