The new port of Rapallo inaugurated. Bizzi’s 70 million investment

An investment of over 70 million euros by Bizzi & Partners brings the Carlo Riva port of Rapallo back to full functionality, completely transformed also in terms of environmental sustainability, which had been devastated by the terrible flood of October 2018. And now the real estate group it also aims to build the tourist port of Bordighera.

The inauguration of the renovated tourist port took place yesterday afternoon, with a ceremony in which, in addition to the Region and local institutions, the president of the Senate, Ignazio La Russa, participated (“reopening a port is like reaffirming the centrality of Italy in Mediterranean”, he said) and the mayor of Milan, Beppe Sala. The ribbon cutting formalized the return of the boats (the land part has yet to be completed) to one of the most important landing places in the Mediterranean and with a long history. The port, in fact, was inaugurated in 1975 and was born from the commitment of Carlo Riva, the engineer who created the most iconic motorboats in the world. The renovated port now has over 250 berths distributed over nine docks, to accommodate boats and yachts from 7.5 to 60 meters in length.

Concession to the subsidiary Argo

The Carlo Riva infrastructural redevelopment and real estate development project was managed entirely by the Bizzi & Partners group, also responsible for the construction of an impressive structural work, of public interest, for the safety of the coastal town of Rapallo.

The group’s overall investment, as mentioned, exceeds 70 million and the owner of the port concession is the Argo company, controlled by Bizzi & Partners and owned by Fidim. The architectural project of the new Carlo Riva is signed by the architect Susanna Scarabicchi (Tectoo studio). The construction works were entrusted, via tender, to the Savarese Costruzioni e Sales company.

The port of Bordighera is in the sights

And you will find all the services you need when you go on holiday or when you want to rest. We focused on customer care. Furthermore, we always like to face new challenges (it is the first time that the group has dedicated itself to the tourist port sector, ndr) and we are also aiming for other ports besides Rapallo, which is an extraordinary location. We are closing the agreement with the Municipality of Bordighera on the new port, which must be built from scratch. In the meantime, we are busy finishing the onshore part of the Carlo Riva.”
