The president of the Venezuelan Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies (Avavit), Nicola Furnari, announced new talks regarding the return of Air France flights to Venezuela.

He also explained that there is currently talk of direct flights to Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, Italy, Iran, Qatar and China. Among other things, they hope to soon incorporate new destinations that are a little closer to the country.

Likewise, these new routes would be added to those that are already underway, such as Spain, Portugal, Russia and Saint Vincent. Furnari highlighted in an interview with Radio Union, that there are destinations in the country that are ready to receive tourists.

However, it details that “despite the opening to these destinations, the frequency of flights is still very low. Similarly, it indicates that it is necessary to return to “the regularity and frequency of the flights that we had in Venezuela.”

To achieve this, a deep work must be done, highlights the president of Avavit. “The will of the private and public sectors is needed to attack the problems and thus give tourists a better country,” he pointed out.

Tourism represents 10% of the START (gross domestic product) of the countries, said Furnari, so promoting it is something positive for all those who live in Venezuela. He explained that Venezuela does not reach those levels, although mechanisms must be established to be a country that receives tourists from anywhere in the world.
