the next headphones would have Lossless sound and a box that rings when lost

The AirPods Pro 2 may well offer much better audio quality than current wireless headphones. A new report from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo does indeed indicate that the second generation of AirPods Pro would lead to high demand with its new features.

The analyst speaks in particular of the management of lossless audio compression technology also called ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec) or just Lossless audio. This technology from Apple makes it possible to obtain 16-bit 44.1 kHz to 24-bit 48 kHz CD quality sound. Released in 2021, this feature is not supported by AirPods Pro and AirPods Max, but it might well be on the next high-end wireless headphones.

AirPods Pro 2 would ditch Bluetooth to play audio files with Lossless

Current AirPods models do not support Lossless as they play audio files over Bluetooth. However, Bluetooth can only transmit AAC format files (Advanced Audio Coding). So what does this mean for Apple? The Cupertino company must find a way to bypass Bluetooth to stream better quality ALAC format files directly on AirPods Pro 2. We do not yet have more information on this alternative solution.

In addition, Ming-Chi Kuo also clarified that the next earphones will have a wireless charging box capable of emitting sound. This functionality would be useful in particular in the event of loss. Users might thus ring their box directly from the Locate application. Right now, they can ring the earbuds inside and outside the case, but not the case itself. It is therefore not practical if they cannot find their case to charge their AirPods.

Finally, Ming-Chi Kuo expects a new design and a release in the fourth quarter of 2022. AirPods Pro 2 might also offer an innovative experience with health tracking, but this is not yet confirmed.
