The Oppo Watch 3 Pro is approaching, with a high-performance and energy-efficient chip

Information about Oppo’s next connected watches is trickling in. Fortunately, it will not be necessary to wait long before knowing everything, since their formalization could take place in just a few days.

Oppo has already announced that it will deliver all the information on its new range of connected watches during the summer. According to Digital Chat Station (via PlayFulDroid), close to the industry, it is the date of August 10 which would have been chosen by the brand to present the Oppo Watch 3. Surprising insofar as, on that day, the technosphere will not have eyes only for the Samsung Unpacked 2022 eventduring which the new folding smartphones from South Korea will be presented, as well as its Galaxy Watch 5.

Either way, Oppo’s Watch 3 and Watch 3 Pro promise some notable improvements. First of all, presenting an almost unchanged rectangular format, the LPTO screen with adaptive refresh would be larger thanks to refined edges, and would make it possible to achieve energy savings to maximize autonomy. The watches would be available in four colors (black, silver, dark gray and gold) and there would be a slightly different configuration depending on the model, with a button for one and a crown for the other, in addition to the obviously touchscreen. It could even be that three different models are finally on the program.

On the processor side, depending on the model, we could find a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen1 SoC. As a reminder, the Oppo Watch 2 had a Wear 4100 SoC. Needless to say, the performance boost would be significant. Indeed, the Snapdragon W5 Gen1 is up to twice as efficient as the aging Wear 4100, while consuming half the energy. More power and responsiveness, but also more autonomy, that should delight everyone.

Some Oppo Watch 3 models, however, could be satisfied with a slightly less ambitious chip, namely theApollo 4 Plus d’Ambiq. All of them could nevertheless integrate advanced health functions, starting with a heart rate monitor offering an ECG (electrocardiogram) function.
