The US space agency, NASA, published a new image that includes a magical scene of the universe, and amazing details of a region in space in which 3 galaxies merge.
The image shows a region known as the Padura Cluster, which includes many huge galaxies to form a very large giant cluster whose gravity distorts time around it.
The stunning view of the Pandora Cluster, brings four snapshots together into one panoramic image, showcasing nearly 50,000 sources of near-infrared light.
Astronomers say that this method has the potential to open new horizons in the study of cosmology and the evolution of galaxies because it may allow the observation of many distant galaxies in the early universe.
“The Pandora cluster, as imaged by James Webb, shows us a stronger, wider, deeper and better lens than we’ve seen before,” explained astronomer Ivo Lieb of Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne.
“It looked like a simulation of galaxy formation,” he added.
The Hubble Space Telescope first discovered the massive Pandora cluster, the product of violent, simultaneous collisions of galaxies over 350 million years, for the first time in 2011.
