The Parisian Lido cabaret will close, transformed by its owner Accor

A page in the history of Parisian nights is turning with the announced closure of the Lido. The famous Champs-Elysées cabaret, created 76 years ago, will be the subject of a reorganization desired by its new owner, the Accor hotel group. The announcement was made to employees on Thursday. Management believes that the dinner-show model no longer finds its audience. Instead, it promises a renewed musical theater program thanks to an ambitious new artistic line.

In the meantime, almost all the jobs will disappear, 157 out of 186. Seamstress at the Lido for 33 years, member of the CGT, Laura Bonucci regrets this decision. “I didn’t expect it, she said, because the recovery was here, she explains. We had matinees with more than a thousand spectators. It was magic, I don’t understand why they want to stop“. No specific schedule for the end of the shows has been announced at this stage.
