What about the censorship?
According to Francis Muhire, a Burundian artist, censorship exists in art even if the ideal would be that there is none: “In general, censorship in art is not ideal, but sometimes it is necessary. “. For Mr. Muhire, a good artist is one who knows how to produce a work that is difficult to censor. This means, he explains, that he must know how to use metaphors in his songs or use poetic turns.
He concludes his remarks with a nod to the authorities empowered in censorship: “They should not prevent these songs from being broadcast, but rather resort to the various censorship techniques following the example of the United States so that each artist is aware of the consequences that will follow the words and images that will have been used in their songs. . ». He also advises the media to think about all these censorship techniques.
